Council Candidate Arrested For Stealing Campaign Signs, Middlesex County Prosecutor Says

A 51-year-old town council candidate from Middlesex County has been charged with stealing election signs from the roadway, authorities said.

Timothy Eosso, of Monroe, was arrested and charged Tuesday with one count of disorderly persons theft by unlawful taking, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. 

Eosso is a Republican candidate for Monroe Township Council in the 2nd ward.

An investigation by members of the Monroe Police Department found that, on Oct.  7, Eosso allegedly removed roadside campaign signs from the area of Applegarth Road, the prosecutor said.

The investigation is active and continuing.
